  • How our removalist pricing works

    The biggest question on everyone’s lips when we first speak to them about their move is this: “how much does your removalist service cost?”. We aim to be as transparent as possible about our pricing for your move.

    Unlike a lot of other removalists in this industry, we’re not interested in overcharging you just because you are moving to a nice area, or because you’ve just sold a beautiful home. We have a pricing structure – and we apply it to every one of our removal customers.

    Get to the numbers! What’s the price?

    We’re based in Jesmond, Newcastle, NSW – so our pricing starts there. If you’re within 20km of the center of Newcastle, we charge $250 for the first hour and then $170/hr there after – with a minimum charge of 2 hours.

    In the Greater Hunter Region, we charge the same $250 for the first hour, however we charge $200 / hr for each hour after. This allows us to cover our extra travel and petrol time & expenses.

    Long distance moves are far more complicated for us to price, since it depends on how far, how big and all manner of other factors.     We don’t charge for the travel time from our base to your move or back. So you are only paying us for the time we’re moving YOUR things.

    Our big difference? 3 removalists

    If you’ve been researching removalist prices in the area – you might be wondering why we cost a tiny bit more than some of our competitors – the answer is a bit complex, but also very, very simple: we really don’t.

    To explain: we charge a slightly higher hourly rate than some other removalists, but we send 3 reliable, professional removalists to every job – the industry standard is (funnily enough) 2  (and a truck). So – with Move With Ben you’re getting an extra removalist. What this means is that, on average, we can actually complete the job in half the time. So you say pay us for 2 hours of work, the quote would be $250 + $170 = $420. IF you chose instead to pay our competition $200 an hour for the first hour and $150 for each hour after… and they take 4 hours, then you pay $200 + $150 + $150 + $150 = $650. So, on this job – you’d have saved around $230!
